CapLinked brings companies and investors together in a way that is mutually beneficial. Through the application, users can handle their business transactions, start conversations and access free tools and resource documents. CapLinked also allows users to upload professional deal summaries, create deals for asset sales, capital raise or any other kind of transaction. Each deal is private so others cannot view them. Users can also send follow up questions directly through CapLinked. Those who receive a deal can share it with relevant individuals, such as advisors or other investors (however the deal’s owner can restrict access). CapLinked allows users to sign in through Google, Yahoo or Widows LiveID accounts. Contacts can also be managed and imported from Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook and Hotmail. Additional features allow the user to send private status updates to board members, advisors and investors. Users are given access to the CapLinked dashboard, document area and messaging tools so they can manage all of their business transactions through one account.

CapLinked was founded in 2009 by Christopher Grey and Eric Jackson. The application was intended to build a link between companies and investors. Based out of Manhattan Beach, California, the current CapLinked team includes CFO Grey, CEO Jackson, UI Engineer George Ishii, advisor Steve Chang, investor Joe Lonsdale, board member Aman Verjee and secretary Mark Abramson. CapLinked is currently in a beta status.

The application also gives users greater control with privacy settings, private messaging and the ability to send deals to other users.

The CapLinked website has a very professional style that goes well with the site’s purpose. The top of the homepage consists of a black header bar with the stylish CapLinked logo. Four grey navigational buttons help users access each of the main areas on the website. The user can create professional deals that include all the vital information from the business plan to terms, type and deal amount. Overall, the CapLinked website has a very professional style that both investors and companies can appreciate.

A new user can register for a CapLinked account by clicking the bright orange “Sign up for a free account” button found near the center of the homepage. The short registration form is highlighted by a light green box. Users are asked to provide a full name, email address and optional company name. After submitting their information, the user can set up their profile. This includes a short bio, what the user does, a profile photo and company details.

For the time being, anyone can use CapLinked for free. There are no subscription fees or other charges for creating an account and networking on the site. Users get access to all of the current features. The website FAQ page does mention that CapLinked intends to add premium features that will require a fee later on, however no date has been provided for that change.
